ABOUT Peyton Brown

Favorite WOD:  Anything with gymnastics!

Least Favorite WOD:  12 days of barbell or anything with overhead squats.

Tell us about your sports &and fitness background: The first sport I ever got

introduced to was skiing when I was about 3 years old. As I got older I got into many

sports, including gymnastics, dance, horseback riding, basketball, swimming, soccer,

and eventually softball, which I have been playing since I was about 10 years old. I

now play travel softball and am on the varsity softball team at my high school.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD...

What was it, and how did it feel? I was first exposed to crossfit by my mom, who

had been going to crossfit for a few years at that point. I don’t remember the exact

name of the workout, but it involved a lot of burpees, box jumps, and running. For

my first workout ever, this was a really tough one.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since

starting CF (before/after)? I don’t remember much from before because I was so

young, but I definitely have seen a difference throughout the years of me going

consistently. Especially in my legs I have seen a huge difference, which has helped

with my pitching tremendously. I also have seen a huge difference in my stamina

over the years, which has been extremely helpful. I see most of these changes show

while I am pitching or playing softball, and I am so grateful for them.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on

something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected? I have definitely seen a

change in my happiness and mental health. I have made so many bonds with the

community within CrossFit, that if I show up having the worst day I will leave

having the best day. I have also noticed it has helped with my organization as a

person in general, and I feel that having a set schedule to follow with the classes has

really helped with my work ethic and organizational skills.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFKSQ moments: Some of my

favorite CrossFit moments include participating in the Friday night lights, getting

my first bar muscle up, making new friends, making fun TikToks with Rodney, and

always dancing with my friends to the music in class.

Any advice for people just getting started? My biggest advice would probably be

to not give up right away just because it’s hard, because it’s going to be hard. If it

was easy everyone would do it!

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? My biggest

hobby outside of CrossFit is definitely softball, but if I’m not playing or practicing

softball I’m usually hanging out with my friends or at home playing dominoes with

my mom.
